What intentions do you have set for your best summer ever?  It’s just around the corner!

When August arrives, what will you be glad you have intentionally enjoyed this summer?

Summer takes me back to long, leisurely play days as a child, when it seems the days never ended.  I want to encourage you to envision the end of your summer and see the beautiful things you have enjoyed.

By August, dream of three essentials you have intentionally enjoyed – a people goal, a place goal and a project goal.  By beginning with the end in mind, you can get those most important people, places and projects into your calendar so they occur.

Who do you want to be sure to spend time with during June, July, and August?

One of the things about summer is the different type of schedules we usually keep.  Who can you plan to see this summer?  Summer is a great time to focus on relationships.  Will it involve travel?  How about day trips or even planning certain activities together?  Are there people you haven’t seen for awhile?

Make a list of the people you hope to see and methodically begin to make plans.  Leave room on your calendar, too, for those unplanned drop ins, too.  If your schedule feels unmanageable too far in advance, take it a week at a time and plug in your wish list of people.  It’s all about being intentional, not crazy!

What places and/or projects are most important to you to refresh your mind, body and soul?

Outside is one of those activities you want to plan for the summer – picnicking, camping, hiking during the summer months or even going to a quiet spot to read a book.

Or perhaps there’s a project that is meant just for you.   What will refresh your soul this summer?  Besides doing, what types of being still might be helpful to refresh your own self?

Where do you see yourself?

This is where you get to picture  yourself in different places.  Over the summer months, are you enjoying your backyard, your neighborhood, your town, your parks, your state, local festivals or are you planning trips?  Places and spaces also can give refreshment.

How will you be sure you can carry out these intentions?

Finally comes the carrying out of your intentions and who you have to get on board with your dreams. Who needs to be included with your intentions?

Seldom do we plan and dream in a vacuum. Your voice is important, though, and dreaming about what will be healthy and helpful to you and your family can start now.

I can’t wait to hear how your summer of  purpose and intentions.  It’s a chance to make choices, focus on purpose, build relationships, enjoy wellness.  Let me know how I might be able to support you.  Happy summer!
